Exercising during pregnancy
The benefits of exercising during pregnancy are well researched and understood. Whilst many women continue to take part in their usual exercise activity, modifying their workout to be suitable for pregnancy, others prefer to join specialised classes and exercise with other pregnant women.
Appropriate exercise is safe and beneficial for most pregnant women . However, there are some pregnancy and medical conditions for which exercise is not recommended. All class participants therefore complete a "screening form" before joining bumpercise. You can read the class safety sheet for more information.
bumpercise classes
bumpercise is designed to help you cope with the demands of pregnancy, birth and caring for a new baby. The class aims provide you with more information.
All classes include exercises to strengthen, tone and gently stretch muscles that are important during pregnancy. Some classes also include a low impact and easy to follow cardiovascular workout. You can read the class structure and content information to find out more.
Classes are small (maximum of 12 participants) and have a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. You can join at any stage of your pregnancy. Don’t worry if you haven’t exercised before, or you think you don’t have any co-ordination. Everyone works at their own level and I teach and explain all the exercises fully and offer alternative moves when needed.
Classes run as a "course" over a 6 to 10 week period and you need to book a place on the course. Booking details are included in the "classes & fees" section of this website.
